Softility - Technical Lead - Java Development - J2EE/Spark/Scala (8-12 yrs) (Softility)

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science.

- Minimum of 8 years Software Development in Java

- Experience working with SQL (any flavor), JavaScript, HTML, CSS

- Experience with automated software testing at various levels including unit tests, integration tests, and system tests

- Experience with at least one RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)

- Experience with containerization and Docker

- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment

- Proven track record of coaching team members and ability to set clear expectations and goals

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment

- Ability to create official work / cost estimates for software development tasks

- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goals of the organization

Preferred:

- Experience in API Management and API Products is a plus

- Understanding of the distributed data ecosystem is a plus - ex: Hadoop, Data pipelines, Spark, Scala etc.

- Familiarity with serverless framework is a plus

- Familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus

Responsibilities:

- Proactively communicate to team the latest technological developments affecting our industry and identify opportunities for industry presentations

- Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship

- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits

- Perform reviews of solution design and code

- Design, develop and unit test applications

- Interest and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and applying them to solve challenging problems

- Comfortable with agile software development practices, continuous integration, and test-driven development

- Interest in leading, mentoring, and supporting other developers both by example and through your subject matter expertise

- Perform technical aspects of specified deliverables and lead team of technical staff in creating deliverables consistent with scope, schedule and budget
