The SDN Software Architect will provides expert architectural design, guidance of leading-edge SDN technologies, Federation between controllers and industry best-practices for a Greenfield deployment. The Role demands ability to handle complex software design requirements in a fast-paced, leading-edge environment. The individual must possess a balance of extremely strong technical skills
The responsibilities of the candidate will include:
- Highly focused in the software architecture, design, develop and deploy services and tools to enable an SDN solution strategy. Create and implement reference SDN enabled software architecture design aligned to, and supportive of business needs, product and service offerings. Must follow architecture design standard recommendation release from MEF.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Datacentre and Telecomm Software Defined Networking - Target is to build federation between controllers serving Telco networks individually.
- Facilitates and directs the core technology underpinnings that constitute the architecture of overall integrated systems for automated network services solution from an SDN perspective and all functional business and support needs
- Drives in-depth assessment of technologies to validate that the technology and architecture is appropriate for the overall service solution needs and communicates assessment to rest of the team
- The candidate should design involving Software Development, should extensively recommend powerful Opensource technology.
- Must have knowledge on Networking Protocols, Ethernet transport, Networking Orchestration, Federation, understanding of OpenStack and Virtual/Cloud/Hybrid Architectures.
- Candidate should have proven experience in: s/w Development Agile methodology, experienced in network and Infra orchestration, programmed service delivery (configuration and provisioning), Network Virtualization, Security, Hybrid Cloud Platform deployment, migration, service orchestration and instantiation, and business logic integration.
- Evaluate technical aspects of competing products Identify, propose, architect and test (proof-of-concept or prototype) scalable and flexible solutions to support internal teams migrating, transforming, and/or developing applications in the SDN platform.
- Act as the last escalation point to resolve all SDN related engineering and architecture issues.
- Document, partner, and share templates, techniques, and artifacts with other development teams.
Key Skills:
- Self-motivated with a proven track record in SDN technologies and associated software. Must be organized and analytical, adept at working solo and in a team environment
- 7+ years of leadership role in development and architecture of software defined Datacentre fabric and network services along with 3-5 years of systems integration and/or implementation experience
- Expert in ODL, ONOS, Floodlight
- Having strong knowledge of Open flow, Service Chaining, Open Stack Networking (Neutron) plug-in / OpenStack Heat Integration, OPNFV,
- Hands-on experience on YANG, TOSCA, TCP/IP, NFV, VXLAN, GRE, BGP, MPLS
- Strong knowledge in Service Orchestration & Automation
- Work experience and proficiency in API based distributed system architecture.
- Experience designing medium to large network/CRM/PM/FCAPS/OSS or related solutions
- Good knowledge and experience with Cloud-service platforms, APIs and Micro services (AWS, Azure, or others)
- Strong experience on SDN, Load balancing, Switching, Routing, Underlay & Overlay, VXLan, Micro segmentation, network fabric cloud, DNS, DHCP, IPAM solutions.
- Architecture knowledge of Software defined Network security or adaptive security platform.
- Should have hands-on knowledge or expertise in some of the following technologies or equivalent: C++Java/J2EE, including SOAP, RESTful and related technologies (JSON, XML). Strong experience on Cloud Management Platforms Containers (Docker, K8s, CoreOS).
- Extensive experience defining and implementing standards and best practices.
- Strong documentation skills in High Level Architecture (Visio, Enterprise Architecture).
