Engineering Manager - Java/J2EE Framework (15-20 yrs) (ABC)

Position Title : Manager - Engineering

Location : Andheri, Mumbai

Qualifications : Advanced degree in Computer Science/Engineering

Experience Required : 15+ Yrs (10 years in core development + 5 years in leadership management)

Job Description :

- Manage software engineers working on partner integrations on our payment processing platform

- Participate in team planning and coordination with other teams within the organization

- Contribute to engineer's professional growth through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and Statements of Alliance

- Contribute to and promote good software engineering practices across the team

- Lead improvements in documentation, process, and training

- Be highly motivated and maintain a positive, 'can-do' attitude

Required Skills :

- 5+ years of experience with engineering team management / leading a team of 10 - 12 engineers

- Strong sense of ownership with a track record of delivering quality projects

- 10+ years- experience with Java/JEE and related technologies

- Knowledge of developing trends and emerging standards in relevant fields

- Understanding of the software development life-cycle

- Attention to detail and strong organization skills

- Strong communication skills for working with third-parties

Desired Skills :

- Previous experience working with multinational companies with distributed teams

- Experience working in high-performing development teams using Agile methodologies and tools

- Experience integrating with third party web services across a variety of technologies e.g. REST, SOAP, SMPP

- Understanding of Enterprise Integration/Design Patterns e.g. dependency injection/inversion-of-control using Spring, Guice

- Understanding of RESTful API design principles

- Experience with some (or all) of the following technologies/frameworks/tools: JPA, Hibernate, Jersey, Spring/Guice, SpringWS, JMX, Hessian, Apache Camel, RMI, MySQL, JUnit, TestNG, Mockito, Eclipse/Intellij, Maven, Git, etc.
