Role and Responsibilities :

- Develop strategies for effective Java development and long term architectural planning

- Select the right set of tools and strategies for long term development and maintenance of code bases

- Build cloud ready Java applications.

- Work with Product manager and Engineering leaders to understand the business requirements and create a foresight for right architecture.

- Oversee all Java code bases of Practo (both legacy and latest)

- Be a technical subject matter expert and represent the full internal and external capabilities of the platform.

- Work closely with business, product and other functions to define the product road-maps

- Improve on an existing stack of logging, monitoring and alerting

- Engage developers to listen into different forums to understand challenges at scale and provide innovative solutions.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.

- Solid understanding of Java ecosystem

- 6-11 years of experience in running Java applications at scale.

- Java Spring/Spring Boot experience is mandatory.

- Should have run Java services on Kubernetes infrastructure or at least some docker infrastructure.

- Should have an understanding of Database internals, data structures and OS internals.

- Should have a working knowledge of all the services and features which a Java ecosystem has to offer.

- Experience providing technical expertise throughout the product life cycle including design, implementation, and delivery of scalable build/test/release infrastructure.

- Experience defining team strategy and road map for the adoption of developer tools and test infrastructure for one or more products.
