Landmark Group - Head of Engineering - Java/J2EE Frameworks (10-15 yrs) (Landmark Group)

The opportunity:

As an Engineering Manager, you will provide product engineering management and leadership on medium to large scale projects with internal and direct customer impact. Responsible for day-to-day management of Engineering teams to ensure technical quality, product quality, and efficient utilization of resources. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and with high quality standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams within Landmark Webteam and partner with key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

1) Deliver assigned projects within budgeted time, cost and agreed quality standards in Agile Scrum environment

2) Partner with Product Management, Architects, Operations, other delivery teams and Release Management to ensure effective launch and delivery of projects to satisfy business needs

3) Lead teams to ensure project delivery success

4) Apply best-practices and coding patterns that ensure world-class solutions that are maintainable, modular, and of high code-quality

5) You work with designers, business analysts, and product managers to estimate and plan projects in an Agile environment.

6) Help define Technical Roadmap and own the entire product delivery end to end.

7) Create a culture that insists on meeting expectations and delivering value

8) Drive automated solutions that enable better efficiency and process improvement

9) Grow and manage the skills and talent in the team

10) Manage communication cross-functionally and escalate promptly as issues arise

11) Take responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction during project delivery

12) Excellent problem solving skills and takes initiatives

You Must Have:

1) Bachelor's degree with 10 - 15 years related experience, of which at least 8 years in product development roles and at least 2 years playing Engineering Management role leading scrum teams.

2) Experience in Retail eCommerce domain with a knowledge of Hybris is a plus

3) Strong design and coding experience

4) Hands on experience in Java and J2ee technologies

5) You have good knowledge of RDBMS and performance aspects to optimize SQL queries

6) Knowledge of one or more of no SQLs (Mongo/Casandra), JMS, Kafka/Apache Streams is desirable

7) Aware of Elastic Search, Kibana, Logstash to quickly build dashboards for simple needs

8) Experience with massive-scale performance and scalability engineering

9) Must have extensive experience managing projects with Agile Scrum methodology

10) Must be confident, highly motivated and passionate about delivery and customer satisfaction

11) Must have strong organization, communication and planning skills

12) You are passionate about technology & continuously keeps abreast of emerging ones

13) Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or equivalent from a top tier college
