Manager - Software Engineering - Java/J2EE (6-12 yrs) (Black Turtle)

Manager - Software EngineeringReporting StructureReports to the Senior Manager 


- Software EngineeringEducationBachelor's Degree in EngineeringMaster Degree in Engineering/Management preferred


Experience/ Qualifications


- Minimum of 8 years and maximum of 12 years of total experience


- Mandatory experience of 5 years in managing Software Engineering projects for development and maintenance of enterprise class business IT applications in Banking domain in one of the following set up- s:


1. Tier 1 IT companies


2. IT captives of MNC Bankso IT Product companies focused on Banking sector


Proven expertise in the following process areas:


- SDLC Methodologies (Waterfall/ Agile)


- Estimation techniqueso Project Planning using Microsoft project (MPP)


- Risk Managemento Stakeholder management


- Quantitative project management


Strong technology skills in one of the following technology stacks, hands-on experience will be preferred.


1. Java/J2EE

2. Spring/Springboot

3. Microservices

4 Fullstack

5. Microsoft stack (Sharepoint, .Net etc)

6. Big Data


- Possesses ability to quickly understand the technical and functional aspects of the project to be able to communicate effectively with different stakeholders and also guide the team on various aspects.


- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, high integrity, strong work ethic and ability to empathize with the customer.


Responsibilities


- Partner with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, deliverables and timelines


- Lead the development of requirements, business cases, estimations, Project Proposals and RFPs


- Facilitate the definition of service levels and acceptance criteria for projects


- Develop project plans, goals, and budgets- Work with stakeholders to secure needed resources and resolve resource conflicts


- Identify and proactively manage changes in scope, budget and schedule to ensure that the business value of the project is still achieved


- Escalate issues and risks and proactively takes ownership for resolution


- Track milestones and deliverables and provide regular status reporting to all levels of stakeholders


- Manage projects with a blend of in-house and external resources (vendors and contractors)


- Plan and lead project governance meetings, project health checks, phase gate reviews, post project reviews and project level workshops


- Share lessons learned and best practices across projects, building relationships with stakeholders at all levels


Provide IT PMO with lessons learned and best practices related inputs


- Collaborate with IT PMO to implement standards, guidelines and perform other relevant activities

Adhere to Project Management methodology as defined by IT PMO


- Provide timely, candid and constructive performance feedback to direct reports


- Develop direct reports to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance their career growthCertifications
