- The Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities :
- Own and Responsible for end to end development of the projects/programs assigned
- Deliver high quality software programs adhering to standards and involve in Design reviews, program specifications review
- Collaborating with stakeholders and working closely with various technology groups & vendor organizations to be able to drive a standard framework for development processes
- Deliver state-of-the-art solutions using new stack development using Agile/DevOps/Micro services/Docker/Angular JS while keep show on road of legacy technology stack
- Regular interact with business and operations partners globally.
- Ensure the right team structure and organization is put in place for the new development unit ; Excellent track record in Team management (1-2 squads and each squad having 7-10 people) and interaction of vendors / staffed model
- Work across multiple development teams - offshore / onshore / Vendor teams and track project deliverable closely
- Should have hands-on development experience on Java & modernization technologies
- Integration of business and Technology units across TTS and communicate program status to wider forums
- Partnership and working closely with cross functional teams for brainstorming on best solution
- Able to be a lead from the front, to get down and work with team and understand the problem and resolve
- Relationship management skills -- ability to develop and sustain positive partnerships and be a strong leader
- A strong commitment to quality and efficiency
- Person Specification
Qualifications :
- BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Person with 14-18 years of experience, working in similar roles across banking or services technology
- Experience on trade finance products development is a strong plus
- Project Management Certification preferred
- Good Knowledge on CI/CD and DevOPS
- Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills ; Proven experience managing staff and function transition between locations and time-zone preferred
Technical / Functional Proficiency :
- Strong Technical background in JAVA / J2EE, Micro services applications; DevOps; Agile; PaaS (like OpenShift) is critical for success in role
- At senior leadership level, person should get to a closer view of problems and interaction with the teams.
- Experience on Pro - C, C, C++ can be an advantage
- Experience in J2EE technologies such as JDK 1.6, JSP,DWR, Struts 2.X, Spring Framework, AJAX, Angular 4
- Experience on trade finance products development is a strong plus
- Experience on micro services development can be an advantage
- Strong stake holders management experience
- Solutioning and architecture reviews
- Technology Migration project exposure is a Strong plus
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Good exposure in overall quality implementation to deliver product fit for purpose using BDD/JUnit/Sonar/Functional Automation
- Should have good experience on handling multiple teams and project management.
